Organising Your Home in Four Easy Steps

Organising Your Home in Four Easy Steps

A tidy home can make life so much easier, especially if you are a full time parent. We've come up with four simple ways to keep your home organised which will allow you to take the time to focus on other things in your life.

1- Dedicate time.

It's really easy to keep putting this task off, promising yourself that you'll do it tomorrow. But if you don’t plan in the time, it's more than likely that you'll never get round to it. Schedule a day for cleaning and organising into your diary, and stick to that date! You will feel much better about your home once you know where everything is and can find what you want easily. If you have children it might be an idea to get them to help, but make sure that you keep an eye on them! You can always make it more fun for the family with your favourite music and regular biscuit breaks.

2- Keep clothes organised.

If you live with young children, it's inevitable that they will leave items of clothing at school at some point or other. If you haven’t clearly marked these garments then they might be accidentally taken by another student. This means that you'll be expected to buy another, which isn’t cheap. You can avoid this whole nightmare by sewing a name tag into school clothes, so that they will always know which is theirs. There are a range of colours and sizes available so you can make the tag stand out against others. The cost of doing this is much less than buying new uniform, so it really is worthwhile.

3- Sort out your 'spare drawer.'

Everyone has one. Whether it's in your kitchen, living room or even bedroom, it can cause a huge amount of clutter in your life. They are often filled with coins, nails and any other bits which get thrown in there without a second thought. Sorting through these areas can seem like a daunting task, but it doesn’t have to be. An easy way to approach this is using plastic containers which are clearly labelled with what they will have inside. Our Thermal Transfer Label range is perfect for this particular use and can be purchased in all shapes, colours and sizes. De-clutter your home and you de-clutter your life!

4- Invest in a label dispenser.

Having labels will help you to organise your home, but without a good label dispenser they can become tangled, dusty or torn. With this product you can easily store it away in a cupboard or wardrobe so that it doesn’t take up much space. You can print any text your want directly onto the label which helps when you need individual stickers, perhaps for each room of the house. This is the best way to get your head around what needs to go where!

The process just takes a little patience and perseverance and once it is done, it will be much easier to keep on top of. Good luck, we know your home will be organised in no time!
