We’ve all owned bangles and bracelets at some time. Perhaps you still have a collection clogging up your jewellery box today. Beaded and woven, clunky and chunky or delicate and demure – if you don’t have them lying around there are a huge variety available for mere cents at your local thrift store.
The trick is to look at these little treasures in a different way.

Here are some clever uses for the humble bangle around your home.

As a curtain tie-back.

As a unique way to decorate serviettes.

Give the safe ones to the kids to play with – they make great cookie-cutters!

Use a decorative bracelet to hold a scarf in place.

I accidentally broke the bracelet in the picture above, so I used the stones to decorate a favourite pot plant.

Decorate a candle.

Gold bangles make unique picture hangers…

Or scarf hangers…

Or even key-rings. Try losing this one in your handbag!

I used gold bangles to smarten up some plain drinking glasses.

A silver bangle added a touch of class to a plain vase.

I even linked a few together for the birds to enjoy.

There are a multitude of ways that we can use old bangles and bracelets instead of tossing them away. Just imagine what you could do with rings and necklaces!
