Give a quick and easy update to a piece of furniture by decorating your own cupboard knobs.

Materials
  • Wooden cupboard knobs - preferably with a flat(ish) front.
  • Acrylic paint
  • Decorative tissue paper or other thin wrapping paper
  • Mod Podge (or try diluted PVA glue)

  • Decorating some pine cupboard knobs gives a cheap update to a cupboard or chest or drawers

    Method
  • Paint the wooden knobs with acrylic paint and allow to dry.

  • Cut a disc out of the decorative tissue paper to fit on the front of the cupboard knob.

  • Apply a layer of Mod Podge (or PVA glue) over the painted cupboard knob.
  • Fix the disc of tissue paper onto the centre of the cupboard knob and gently press out any wrinkles or bubbles.

  • Allow to dry then add another layer of Mod Podge (or varnish) to seal.
  • Unscrew the existing cupboard knobs and replace with your creation.
