Recycle a coffee tin to create a funky pencil pot. The coffee cans with a plastic lid already have a smooth edge so they are ready to cover. I used scraps of fabric samples with different textures in different shades of grey and black to cover my tin.

Materials
Coffee tin
PVA glue
Fabric scraps
Spray varnish (optional)

Fabric

Method
Cut the fabric into small pieces. I cut different sizes of rectangles and squares.

Fabric

Cover the coffee tin with PVA glue.
Stick the fabric scraps onto the coffee can, applying more PVA glue as you go. I used the different shades and textures to create a patchwork effect.

Fabric

Once all the fabric is on, cover with another layer of PVA glue.

When dry, spray with varnish if you wish.
