Enjoy the glow

With the weather turning cooler, I love having lit candles in my house to provide ambiance. It can make the room feel so warm and cozy.

This is a simple craft which repurposes a glass jar.

You will need:

Glass jar
Hot glue gun
Wool roving or string
Button or other embellishment
Tea light candle

You will need to collect some twigs. I had pruned a large bush in my yard and left the clippings to sit in a pile and dry out for a few weeks. Then they were ready to use. You could also go for a bush walk and collect sticks from the ground.

Wash the jar with warm soapy water and leave to dry. You can discard the lid as it wont be needed.

Twigs ready to be glued on

Once you have your twigs ready, then trim them to fit around the outside of your jar. I prefer a rustic look so I made mine varying lengths.

When you have cut enough twigs to fit around the outside of your jar. You can start gluing them on using the hot glue gun.

Next you can add the string or wool roving around the middle and add a button or other embellishment.

Leave the glue to set for a few minutes. Before putting your tea light candle inside the jar.

Sit back and enjoy the glow!
