Micro Additions: When You Just Want a Little More Room

There comes a time in everyone’s life when their living space starts feeling too small and contracted. This is usually solved by adding an additional room or creating an additional living environment, but it comes at a great expense. But, not everyone has enough funds to afford this, and so they are bond to live in that house which suddenly became too small. Lucky for them, there is a solution, and it is becoming more and more popular with each passing day. It is the micro additions.

If you are wondering what micro additions may be, think of It like this: creating enough additional space and while doing it, you save a lot of money. Micro additions are a small boost to your house, a “bump-out” created where you need it the most. Any extension that is 2 to 8 feet long is considered to be a micro addition. Having this in mind, here are several suggestions for everyone who wants to create that extra space needed for some other things or activities.

Let us start with the bathroom. One can easily increase the size of his bath by using cantilever micro addition. Now your bathroom has extra room for that spa tub you have always wanted, or for simply putting the washing machine in the corner of the bathroom. Keep in mind to keep all the water pipes away from cold weather. By simple organization of your bathroom and by adding a 24 inch by 8 foot cantilevered bump-out, you will be able to get that tub you always dreamed of but never had.

Kitchen is up next
You can greatly increase the kitchen space by adding micro additions, long enough for you to put in another supporting unit such as garbage disposal, or another freezer. Simply eliminate all the upper cabinets and make room for that kitchen light to shine bright in every corner of it. Creating windows from counter to ceiling and wall to wall, you will have the feeling as if you were cooking outdoors. Be creative, and find many different ways in which you can expand your kitchen to fit your everyday needs. Always consult with a professional before undergoing any such project. You can also hire some of the best extension builders to do the job for you. Keep in mind that doing anything on your own might cause more damage than you can think of, and so it is always better to consult or even hire someone with more experience to do the job for you. Of course, if you can afford the extra cost which is most of the time worth every dime spent.

Micro bumps can also be very useful even in the living room

Ever thought about pushing the TV backwards along with the wall? That can be done, and by doing that you will receive a private space for the TV itself, and have enough space to put something else in its previous place. Also, you can create micro bumps close to almost every window, to add additional space for night tables, heaters, and many other things which come to your mind. As long as you have the need to expand and get that extra space, micro bumps will always be the best solution for you for they take the least time to finish, they are not difficult to undertake and what is the most important- the cost is reasonable and it comes according to the space you want to create. Everything will feel bigger, and you will feel more comfortable and satisfied inside of your new living room.
