If you have pictures you would like to group together but the pictures are different sizes, try this method to get a consistent art wall. This would be a great idea for displaying kids art work too!

pictures on wall

Materials:
12 X 12 inch picture frames (scrapbook picture frames)
Scrapbook paper (12 X 12 inches)
Sharp craft knife
Ruler

Method:
Choose heavy weight sheets of scrapbook paper. You will have choice in colours and textures so be creative if you like!
Measure your pictures and determine what size opening you would like in the mat.

pictures before matting
My pictures were 6 X 8 inches and 8 X 8 inches.

Measure out the opening on the back of your paper and using a sharp craft knife and ruler, cut along the lines.

Pictures together

Insert the mat and picture into your frame.
Hang on your wall.
