A simple terracotta pot gets a fun makeover with chalkboard paint! A great way to personalize a pot for a gift or identify the plant growing in it. And the best part is that your message can be changed over and over again!

Lavender

Materials:
Terracotta pot
Primer
Chalkboard paint
Tape
Paint brush

Method:
Ensure your pot is clean. If the pot has been used before, brush off dirt from the outside and wash well. Let the pot dry overnight.
Tape off any areas you do not want covered in the paint. Paint on one coat of primer.

Finished pot

When the primer is dry, paint on 2-3 coats of chalkboard paint.
After the chalkboard paint is dry, remove the tape and cover the chalkboard paint areas completely with chalk. This will ensure your first letters do not leave permanent lines in the paint. Wipe off with a dry or damp cloth and the chalkboard is ready to use.

Finished pot

Fill the pot with your favorite herb or plant.
Write the name of the herb on your pot or personalize with your own message!

Final pot

This would make a great mother's day or teacher gift as well!
