Button Wreaths

Colourful button wreaths hung up with ribbons are a cute way to brighten up your house. Pick a colour scheme that complements your room, or go for lots of bright colours for a child's room (they'll love to help with making it). At Christmas, use red and green buttons for a lovely twist on a traditional wreath.

Materials
Flexible wire (floral wire, or paper-covered gardening wire is good)
Pliers
Assorted buttons
Ribbon

Method
Using the pliers, create a small loop in one end of your wire. This will stop the buttons from slipping off until you can fasten them on.

Thread the buttons onto the wire. You can choose buttons that are all the same size, or mix it up with lots of different shapes and sizes. I've picked a set of pale to dark purple buttons.

Once you get to the end of the wire, use the pliers to bend the other end around into your original loop. Leave enough space to wrap a ribbon around. I've picked a maroon ribbon.

Tie the ribbon around and leave a loop at the top for hanging up the wreath. I've made this wreath to be quite small, but you could increase the guage and length of the wire to create a large wreath. A larger length would work well for a Christmassy wreath.
